I worked out Australians are blocked from the deal on Amazon.com. I can see the $1.99 deal in the collection beneath the CotM info, but you click on it you get the Australian price in American dollars. They have now offered the Australians bit of a saving, of $7.76 and when I check on the Australian site, sure enough the price has come down to $8.99au so they are keeping them the same price, no matter which store you order from.
I hope they do not do that with all the kindle books, it was nice to occasionally get a good deal on a book.
