Questions about the cover art

Janny how come we never got the scene with the tree in the book, or was that just meant to represent the passing of time and not be an actual scene.

SPOILER, SPOILER, SPOILER, SPOILER,

Annette,

One word, I think, Athili.

It was summer in Athili though and if there was a mystical tree at the centre of it we never got to read about it. If it is just representing a tree on the rim with the summer growth on the western side and winter on the eastern side why is the cover tree half in light and half in dark? I was really looking forward to finding out what the tree was. I can wait another 3 odd years to find out the other things I was sort of expecting to read in the first half of the arc, waiting is not going to kill me. But I really want to know where our mysterious tree vanished to, or if it is just hiding in there and I missed it.

Annette: You asked.

The oak does refer to that scene; not in the literal sense, it is ALSO symbolic.

Time to start a FULL BOOK SPOILER thread if you like, to go more deeply into your impressions and what this symbol represents.

Um, this is part of the full book spoiler topic.

Got that - might want a separate thread, full book, not just artwork.

I'm book dizzy, but not daft (yet).
